Sleepy Hollow




Before watching 
Vocabulary:  Students brainstorm in groups of 3 or 4 typical horror elements in a film
It's a timed competition (2 minutes) and the winner gets a candy
Now students are asked to look for more horror elements in the film they are about to watch

After watching
1. Vocabulary : Students add new horror elements and hand in the list to the teacher.
Winning team with more words gets a candy prize and top mark.
Evaluation: number of items, writing accuracy.

2. Does Sleepy Hollow really exist?: A treasure hunt
- Where is Sleepy Hollow? Include a map from Google Maps
- How many people live there?
- Find some pictures of the village and the cemetery
- What is the legend of Sleepy Hollow originally?
- Who wrote the story and when?
- What are the differences between the plot of the story and the film?
